We are holding our first Girls Football Day on Thursday 28th April
Girls Football Week is a national initiative being run by the FA and is aiming to increase girl’s football participation and their activity levels in general. We have joined with the Sky Blues in the Community and they, along with myself will be delivering fun, football coaching sessions specifically for Year 3, 4 and 5 girls during the day. Due to SATS, Year 6 will not be directly involved in the day but a specific PE lesson will be set aside for them in future and this will also be the case for Year R, 1, 2 and the nursery.
• Thursday 28th April 2016
• Outdoor PE kit required, including a warm jacket, hat and gloves in the event of cold weather.
• Please ensure long hair is tied back and earrings are removed or taped up.
• Your child may wear their favourite football shirt if they have one.
• Please send your child in school uniform with the required kit clearly labelled in a bag as there will be a high number of girls changing in the same area.
Following this event we will also introduce an annual competition between the girls’ teams at Park Lane Primary and Race Leys Junior to continue to grow girls’ football in the schools.
Thank you in advance for your support.
