Learning about animals.

Learning about animals.

This half term year 1 have been very curious about animals. We have had a visit from two puppies, Mollie and Phoebe. We were fascinated by them and were able to ask lots of questions to their owners which we put into a fact file. They loved us too!
We looked at a wide range of different pets and it was exciting to see that so many of us have different pets, from a lizard to a kitten.
We then moved onto Jungle animals. We searched for lots of different facts that we could add into our fact files. This was really interesting! Did you know a lion’s roar can be heard from 2 miles away?
We collected our favourite Jungle animals and had a vote of which to use for our class assembly. We rehearsed our favourite jungle songs which included, In the jungle the mighty jungle and Katy Perry’s roar. As it was superhero day we even went on to talk about our favourite animal superhero – Kung Fu Panda which was really fun!
We are moving on to British and tropical birds after half term. We can’t wait to find out lots of interesting facts and to create some brilliant art work.
We have created an animal board outside Miss Ladbury’s class in year 1. Come and check it out!
