Outdoor Classroom Day

On 17th May, lessons around the UK moved from within their usual four walls and out into the fresh air leaving classrooms empty and children learning outside. Getting children learning outside can help build problem solving skills by observing, predicting and hypothesising. Through explorative play children can learn about the world, in the world. It also provides a great opportunity to use teamwork as great adventures require lots of co-operation. Children at Park Lane had a fantastic day, in lovely weather, exploring the wonderful grounds here. We’re very fortunate that we have such large and interesting grounds here at Park Lane that makes these opportunities such a great experience. A big thanks to Miss White and Miss Vass for organising the day. If anyone has any donations they can make to the improvement of our outdoor classroom please let them know! Wellies, waterproofs, soil, sand, pots, garden tools, logs and garden furniture will all be greatly received. Any handy person who may be able to create a mud kitchen for the area—please get in touch!
