Solar Fest

On Friday 22nd September, year six had a great time at the University of Warwick Solar Fest. A science event where they learned all about the energy of the sun and how it is used in our every day lives. The day began with a short talk all about the sun and how it gives us energy. This was followed by workshops where they had the opportunity to explore some of the university’s real life solar research equipment through guided activities in a research lab. Finally they visited the discovery zone which contained a series of hands on activities and demonstrations to let the children enjoy engaging with science. This included a giant board game, a 3D printed solar tree, examples of different types of solar panels and even a solar powered pizza oven!
