Year 6 have been looking at their new topic, ‘Revolution’ which is all about the Victorian era. To kick start our topic, the Year 6 Griffins went on a virtual trip to the streets of Victorian London – what a sight it was to see!
Throughout the half term we have engaged in some inspiring activities such as role playing a Victorian classroom, learning the skills of sewing and even exploring the work of the brilliant, William Morris. During our Science learning, we have been focusing on the topic of electricity: we have learnt about the scientific symbols used in circuit making as well as designing our very own circuits. The children who are currently learning remotely have really enjoyed using our virtual circuit maker to explore their Science learning!
We were also lucky to have a values lesson delivered by our inclusions manager, Mrs Thirde, which highlighted the importance of empathy. We discussed what empathy was and how we could use it to support our friends during this difficult time. We were also reminded of how to show kindness and how, as we mature, we should always thinks before we speak and act. We were very proud of the mature attitude that our Y6 Griffins have shown – well done, keep it up!
